Ingredients needed
To make this salsa, all you need is:
- Peach
- Mango
- Red bell pepper
- Red onion
- Fresh lime juice
- Basil leaves
- Salt
Substitutions and add-ins
If you want to make a few substitutions or add in some extra ingredients to make it your own, here are some suggestions:
- Pineapple
- Instead of either peaches or mangoes, feel free to add the same amount of pineapple for a tropical flavour!
- Any type of bell pepper
- Instead of red, use any other type of bell pepper in this recipe.
- Jalapeño pepper
- For a bit of heat, add some finely diced jalapeño pepper. I’ll let you be the judge of how much you need!
- Cilantro
- I love the flavour combination of fruit and basil but cilantro adds the classic salsa flavour so you can easily use this in place of the basil.
- Garlic
- If you’re a garlic lover, add 1-2 crushed cloves of fresh garlic into this salsa.
- Lime zest
- For an extra citrusy flavour profile, mix in the zest of ½ of a lime.

How to make Peach Mango Salsa
It’s super simple to make this salsa. Once the fruit and vegetables are diced, the assembly takes less than 2 minutes! Here’s how to throw it together:
- In a medium-sized bowl, add the diced peach, mango, red bell pepper and red onion. Add the thinly sliced fresh basil leaves mix until combined.
- Squeeze the juice of ½ of a lime on top and season with salt. Mix again.
- Serve immediately or store in the fridge until you’re ready to dive in. Enjoy!
Storing salsa
I highly recommend making this salsa close to the time you plan on eating it. However, if you want to prepare it in advance, you can store it for a few days before eating. Here’s how to store it:
- Once you prepare the salsa, place it in an airtight container and into the fridge for up to 3-4 days. (Just note that the longer it’s in the fridge, the soggier the fruit and veggies will become).

What to pair it with
One of my favourite things about this fresh mango peach salsa is its versatility! It pairs so well with a variety of different foods and types of dishes. Plus, it’s a very easy addition that packs in a ton of flavour. Here are some ideas of what to pair this salsa with:
- Use your favourite tortilla chips to scoop up the salsa
- Add a spoonful of salsa on top of fish tacos
- Add some colour and acidity to a dish by throwing some on top of grilled chicken, pork or fish
- Mix up your classic nacho plate and use this peach mango salsa instead of traditional tomato salsa
- Use as a topping and finishing touch to your grain bowls.
Dietary considerations
This recipe is naturally gluten, dairy and nut free. It’s also vegetarian and vegan! No substitutions needed.

Recipe tips
Here are a few things to keep in mind to make the best version of this recipe that’s easiest to prepare:
- No need to peel the peach. The peach is diced into small enough pieces, you can barely tell that the skin is on. Plus, it adds a bit of extra texture.
- To cut a mango efficiently, cut lengthwise slightly off centre, to scrape along the side of the pit. You can then use a round cup to push alongside the edge of the mango skin to scoop out the mango flesh and then dice accordingly. Alternatively, make the first lengthwise cut again and then score the mango flesh with the skin on, being careful not to cut right through the skin. Invert the mango slice so the scored pieces pop out and you can cut along the edge of the mango that meets the skin to release each portion.
- If it’s easier for you, use kitchen or herb scissors instead of a knife to chop the fresh basil.
- Make this salsa close to when you plan to serve it so that the fruits don’t get too soggy and mushy.
