Substitutions and add-ins
- Pineapple
- Instead of either peaches or mangoes, feel free to add the same amount of pineapple for a tropical flavour!
- Any type of bell pepper
- If you don't have red, use any other type of bell pepper in this recipe.
- Jalapeño pepper
- For a bit of heat, add some finely diced jalapeño pepper. I’ll let you be the judge of how much you need.
- Cilantro
- I love the flavour combination of fruit and basil but cilantro adds the classic salsa flavour so you can easily swap this in place of the basil.
- Garlic
- If you’re a garlic lover, add 1-2 crushed cloves of fresh garlic into this salsa.
- Lime zest
- For an extra citrusy flavour profile, mix in the zest of ½ lime.
