Notes
Notes and substitutions:
Quick oats
You can also use rolled oats in this recipe.
Almonds
I recommend using unsalted sliced almonds or chopping whole almonds into smaller chunks.
Walnuts
Use chopped walnuts in this recipe or chop whole walnuts into smaller pieces.
Sunflower seeds
Make sure you use unsalted, raw and hulled sunflower seeds for this granola.
Coconut oil
You could also use melted butter or a mild-oil (like canola oil) instead of coconut oil.
Maple syrup
You could also use honey instead.
Almond butter
Alternatives to almond butter include peanut butter, sunflower butter or Wow butter.
Dietary restrictions:
Gluten-free: opt for gluten-free oats and ensure there is no cross contamination with any gluten-containing products.
Vegan: make sure you are using maple syrup instead of honey as the sweetener.
Coconut-free: opt for a neutral oil (ex. canola oil) or butter instead of the coconut oil.
