Slow Cooker Butter Chicken
It’s pretty likely that you have more time on your hands than you are used to these days. But, nonetheless, it’s always fun to have dinner cook itself. And with that extra time, you can try out other recipes or just remove yourself from the kitchen altogether!
Growing up in the Middle East, I have a special place in my heart for cultural food and Butter Chicken is no exception! Being able to make this for myself and loved ones puts a smile on my face and warms my heart. It also leaves your guests feeling totally cozy and full.
Serve this Butter Chicken alongside rice, quinoa or any type of grain you prefer and add some roasted vegetables or a side salad to brighten up your plate. Enjoy!


Slow Cooker Butter Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, chopped
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic , crushed
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1 tsp each of salt and pepper
- 1 14 oz can coconut milk
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1/4 cup flour
Instructions
- To the slow cooker, add onion, garlic, ginger, curry powder, chili powder, cinnamon, cloves, salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Pour in the coconut milk, maple syrup, tomato paste and stir all together.
- Gently mix in the flour until well incorporated.
- Add the chopped chicken breasts into the slow cooker and stir until each piece is well covered in the sauce.
- Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 6 hours.
- Serve over rice or quinoa and top with cilantro. Enjoy!
