Oat & Almond Granola Bar
If you have been following along for a number of years and remember the days of Food Crush, you may recognize this recipe! For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, Food Crush was the original name of this blog when my friend, Kendall, and I started it back in 2016!
We had the best time dreaming up the blog during our dietetic internship and spending hours in her parents kitchen on the weekends. One of our favourite recipes we created was this Oat & Almond Granola Bar.
It was such a hit that we included it in our first (and only, so far) eBook. Now that I have transitioned to All Nutrition I felt it was out of pure necessity that I share this recipe with you again.
Packed full of nuts, seeds and oats, with warming flavours of vanilla, coconut and cinnamon, this nutritious snack is a show-stopper.
It keeps well in the freezer so make a batch (or two) and have it whenever you’re in need of a delicious snack!

Oat & Almond Granola Bar
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup almond butter, or peanut or cashew butter
- 1 egg white, whisked
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup All Bran flakes, or Chex (if gluten-free)
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1/4 cup hemp seeds
- 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds, unsalted
- 1/4 cup unsweetened coconut flakes
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Line an 8×8 pyrex dish with parchment paper.
- Over medium heat, slowly combine the maple syrup, almond butter and whisked egg white in a saucepan. Whisk constantly as you are adding each ingredient. Bring the mixture to a low boil and then remove from heat.
- Add the vanilla extract to this mixture and stir well.
- In a separate medium-sized bowl, combine all other ingredients together.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until everything is evenly coated.
- Press the granola into the pyrex dish and flatten with the back of a spoon or spatula until it is packed in.
- Freeze the granola for 2 hours. Remove from the freezer, cut into bars and store in fridge or freezer until you are ready to enjoy!
