Tacos are an easy weeknight food that can be made in a jiffy and are great for individual food preferences.

This homemade seasoning will cut down on the cost of the meal as well as the extra preservatives. Plus, you get the satisfaction knowing you made it all on your own!

Get the helping hands of your family and friends to chop, grate and dice your favourite toppings and then wrap it up in a whole grain tortilla or lettuce wrap.

This weeknight meal is fun for everyone and their taste buds!

Homemade Taco Seasoning

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, depending on preference
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp lime juice

Instructions

  • In a small bowl combine and stir together the garlic, paprika, cumin, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.
  • Once ready to use, add the lime juice to 1 lb of ground beef, chicken or turkey. Sprinkle the seasoning on it and cook to your preference.
  • Serve on tortillas or lettuce wraps or in a bowl. Top with your choice of toppings. (I love chopped tomato, romaine lettuce, grated cheese and avocado). Enjoy!
