I may speak for myself when I say I used to HATE bananas in my smoothies. Thankfully, my taste buds came to their senses and now I can’t get enough…weird how that happens, isn’t it?

The only issue with a lot of commercially made smoothies is the huge amount of sugar- either naturally from a ton of fruits or added from flavoured yogurts, juices and sweeteners.

I wanted to get away from that and make a simple yet nutritious drink you can make in mere minutes for those busy mornings!

Green Funky Monkey Smoothie

Ingredients
 

  • 1 frozen medium-sized banana
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 handfuls fresh spinach leaves
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp flax seeds, ground (optional)
  • 1 tsp hemp hearts, (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a blender and mix on medium-high until well combined.
