Easy Greek Salad Dressing
Make your salads more exciting and delicious with this Easy Greek Salad Dressing that takes less than 5 minutes to prepare!
We are getting close to the season of salads! It’s one of my favourite times of year, when the local produce is so fresh and flavourful that it’s hard to resist.
One of the questions I get asked a lot as a registered dietitian is what salad dressings my clients should be using. They aren’t sure whether to buy a dressing from the grocery store or to put in the extra effort to make it at home.
As you may know, I’m a believer that *all foods fit,* meaning that store-bought salad dressings can absolutely be kept around for convenient and tasty additions to salads.
BUT, if you want to try your hand at making one at home using simple ingredients, this Easy Greek Salad Dressing is for you! It’s a great balance of flavours, which adds a nice twist to your everyday salads.
How to Make Greek Dressing
This recipe takes less than 5 minutes to whip up and the ingredient list is simple! All you need is:
- Olive oil
- Red wine vinegar
- Dijon mustard
- Honey
- Garlic
- Oregano
- Salt and Pepper
Just add the ingredients into a measuring cup or jar and mix well. I like using mason jars because they are sealable and easy to pour from.
Storing Homemade Salad Dressing
Storing this Easy Greek Salad Dressing is super simple. If you have made it in a mason jar or another sealable container, make sure the lid is on tight and just pop it in the fridge. It’s recommended to consume it within 3-4 days for optimal taste but it will keep for up to 1 week in the fridge.
Once you are ready to use it, give it a good mix to combine the ingredients well and pour over your salad. If you don’t use it all at once, place it back in the fridge until next time!
I hope this Easy Greek Salad Dressing makes you excited for salads and helps save you time in the kitchen.

Notes
Substitutions:
- Red wine vinegar- if you don't have this available, you can use white wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar. Expect a slightly different flavour profile though!
- Honey- feel free to use maple syrup instead
- Oregano- this gives the Greek flavour but it can be substituted for another dried herb if you prefer. Basil, thyme or parsley could be used in this recipe instead.
